"The Cure"

THE GALLERY AT MORNING STAR 

CALL FOR ART 

2026 Summer Exhibition

Human existence can be fragile, its struggles, real and overwhelming. So we ask: What is 'The Cure'? Where do you find healing, solace, respite, or peace? Where does a cure emerge in your life, community, or the world around you? As a restorative reflection, this theme is designed to be low pressure. If your creative muse guides you to share something deep and personal, we welcome that. But if 'The Cure' for you is simply allowing yourself time to create freely, we're here for that too. All mediums considered.

Important Dates:

  • SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE: SUNDAY, May 10, 2026 at midnight.

  • You will be notified Wednesday, May 13 what pieces have been selected. 

  • Selected works MUST be dropped off Sunday, May 17, 12pm-2pm, 2026

  • Do not ship or drop off work before the selection invitation has been made

  • Location: The Gallery at Morning Star, 12509 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105                                                       

  • This exhibition will remain on display from June 12, 2026 - September 27, 2026 

  • Mark Your calendars: Opening Reception is set for Friday, June 12 from 6:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.                             Live musical guests, Refreshments and meet-n-mingle time, always free and open to everyone!
